Simon and Cathy’s wedding took place at Blaise Castle Museum, Bristol on the 13th of Match and their friends and family joined them at this wonderful wedding venue. My day started with some bridal preparation photographs at their house. This is a nice way to start the day at a gentle pace.
The wedding venue, Blaise Castle.
I then made my way to Blaise Castle Museum to meet up with the groom, Simon. I started with photographs of Simon with his best man before concentrating on the arrival of the guests. If you are unfamiliar with this venue, Blaise Castle is a folly built in 1766 near Henbury in Bristol. The castle sits within the Blaise Castle Estate, which also includes Blaise Castle House, a Grade II* listed 18th-century mansion house, the venue for this wedding.
Here comes the bride
Cathy arrived in style in the back of a classic Land Rover. It was driven by her good friend, Richard, who was dressed to impress. Richard and his beautiful wife, Rachel, are now classed as regulars having been to five weddings that I have photographed, including their own.
Blaise Castle Museum has a main room which is a wonderful place to hold your wedding. As always, the service was beautiful with two wonderful readings. After a few photographs of the signing of the register, we made our way outside where all the guests got to congratulate the happy couple. It was then over to me to organise the group photographs. As you can see, we had a lot of fun capturing all the photographs that Simon and Cathy wanted.
For the reception, we made our way to their favourite restaurant, Prego in Westbury Park. The restaurant was just perfect for this fun loving couple. After photographing the speeches, I grabbed the couple outside for one last shot using some creative lighting.
If I had to sum up this wedding in one word it would be ‘fun’. From start to finish, everyone was so relaxed and a joy to photograph. if you wish to see more of my work, just visit my gallery.
