I photographed Salena & Chris’ wedding at Lewtrenchard Manor on 9 February. I have to admit, Lewtrenchard Manor is not a wedding venue I had photographed a wedding at before. It’s not even a wedding venue I had heard of and I had to Google it before the wedding. Well, all I can say is wow! It’s drop-dead gorgeous, a truly wonderful wedding venue for both winter and summer weddings. The manor house is beautiful and this beauty continues into the grounds.
The start of the day:
On arrival for Salena & Chris’ wedding at Lewtrenchard Manor, the first thing on my mind was to have a real good look around, both inside and out. This allows me to see where I wanted to take the wedding photographs. Working at a wedding venue that I’m unfamiliar with, I always make sure I turn up nice and early which allows me time to have a look around. I also talk to the staff just in case I miss something, and I also do some research online before the wedding. Once this was done, I made my way up to the room where Salena and her daughter were getting ready.
The next stage after photographing some “getting ready” photographs was to make my way back downstairs. This allowed me to photograph people as they arrived for Salena & Chris’ wedding at Lewtrenchard Manor. I knew right away that I was in for a good day as everyone one was happy and full of smiles. Soon Chris arrived allowing me to capture some photographs of him along with his best man.
The wedding ceremony was held upstairs in a beautiful hall. It was a lovely ceremony that despite the very low light, I was able to capture, giving Salena and Chris some wonderful memories of their big day. After the wedding ceremony, we all made our way downstairs for champagne and canapés. This allowed me to capture some reportage wedding photographs of the happy couple and all their guests.
Onto the formals:
Anyone who has attended a wedding that I have photographed in Bristol or across the south west will know my formals are never that formal as we are always having too much fun. After the group shots, we made out way in and around the grounds, grabbing a nice variety of wedding photographs for the bride and groom. This was followed by the wedding breakfast, cutting the cake and some great speeches.
I have to say, this was a beautiful wedding at a stunning venue – a wedding venue that I had never worked at before but one I hope to work at again in the near future. After the speeches, with no evening function to be photographed, I made my way home to prepare for my wedding the following day back in Bristol at the Registry Office followed by the Bristol Glass Boat.
